Writer's block, writer's block
What a stupid waste of time
Thinking, thinking, thinking
But what I want, I just can't find.

Writer's block, writer's block
Paper, pencil, they're no use!
No matter how hard I try,
I just can't seem to find a muse.

Writer's block, writer's block,
Oh how you make me frown
Pondering, waiting, sighing,
I'm always feeling down.

Writer's block, writer's block,
Why won't you go away?
This feeling so horrible,
Can't you leave for just one day?

Writer's block, writer's block,
I hate your wretched face,
You block my path, so feel my wrath!
I'll beat you in this race!

Writer's block, writer's block,
Prepare to meet our doom
As I draw my pencil and paper
And start writing this poem!

Writer's block, writer's block,
You've finally gone away
I've banished you, demolished you,
No more writer's block today!

I wrote this in creative writing class. We had a poetry prompt for a free write in class; "How have you changed since you were a kid?"
I'm not very good at writing about myself, and my experiences, much less writing it in poetry form. I haven't really changed much since I was a child, either.
I had no idea what to do, so I just wrote about writer's block.
My teacher congratulated me and told me that I write a lot like shel Silverstein (one of my favorite poets).
My poem wasn't the best in the class, though. After all, most of the students in the class are  either juniors of seniors in high school— I'm only a freshman.

I feel like I rambled for too long.

Anyway, I hope you like my poem!
(I'm pretty sure the majority of you can relate to this poem as well)
